A Simple Love Haiku From Me to You

Love can be complex

But as simple for me as

I love you always

Ode to a Canadian Wife

O better half, my true love, and soulmate
With whom I have found a love that's so sweet,
No other love can possibly equate;
You gathered my parts and made them complete,
You have planted my feet on solid ground,
You are my comfort, my home, my safe place;
Your love heals my pains, your love makes me whole,
Peace comes to my world from your gentle grace:
United by love so deep and profound,
Two people, now one; eternally bound
As you hold the seven keys to my soul.

Mother to our children; love of my life;
You are the glue that holds us together,
Teacher, protector and my darling wife;
Against the storms you bring the good weather
And when faced with darkness you light the way,
You are strong and brave and wise beyond years;
Moving us forward, heads above water,
You work miracles every single day;
You lead and you guide and kiss away tears
And bring out the best and calm all the fears

Emigrant's Lament

Sometimes my bones ache for home.

Not my heart,

Most everyone I love is here now,

This is where my joy is,

This is where my peace is,

But sometimes my bones ache for home.

A sudden pang,

A remembrance,

The way the ground felt,

The sky looked,

The air smelled,

Sometimes my bones ache for home.

My body is here,

But I’m out of sync,

Offbeat,

Ill-fitted and uncomfortable,

Spinning in the wrong place.

Standing under the wrong patch on Sun,

Sometimes my bones ache for home.

My brain tells me to forget it,

The place I'm thinking of,

The land I'm longing for,

Doesn’t exist outside of memory,

Reality and time have altered it,

I wouldn’t even recognise it anymore,

Still...

Sometimes my bones ache for home.

Not always,

Sometimes only briefly,

But from time to time,

Even after all these years,

My bones still ache for home.

So I fear, 

No matter how much time passes,

No matter how much I embrace my new life,

My new land,

My new, 

Home...

Now,

Forevermore,

And even in death,

My bones will ache for home

Snow in the Sunshine

Nothing shines brighter

Than sun on a snowy day

But the snow will melt

Things that once were beautiful

Often lose lustre with time

Love Comes When You Least Expect It

A day late and a dollar short,
But here it is for all it's worth.
Words that try to speak from the heart,
Words, but that is only the start.
Since actions speak louder than words,
I hope these aren't just for the birds.
But all is fair in love and war
So I'll leave it all on the floor
And on my sleeve I'll wear my heart
Because our love is off the chart
Ours is a match made in heaven
Our love's turned up to eleven.
They say that love doesn't cost a thing,
But your love is my everything.
Love may hurt or maybe it's blind.
But our love is one of a kind.
I'm head over heels, on cloud nine,
My better half for all of time.
We settled down and tied the knot,
Love, friendship, joy, we have the lot.
Each day is a gift that we share,
The present is to show I care,
And though a poem may seem cliché,
I love you this, and everyday.

A man could not ask for a better wife,
The firm foundations of my heart's desire,
My sacred rock amidst the storms of life.

A spark in the dark, a flame to my fire,
Driving me to be a worthier soul,
To do much more and ever reach higher.

Your love gives my life a loftier goal;
Of a Celestial eternity,
As our family has made my life whole.

You mean so much more than the world to me,
And on my love you can always depend;
When I look at you, this is what I see:
